Looks like there could be a discrepancy in the final time of the race. The official time was 1:47.61, experts are leaning toward a time nearer to 1:46.87. Not quite Lea's track record of 1:46.86, but it is almost certain that the final time is inaccurate. Timeform US will further investigate and those results will be announced later this week. TJ

Hi Skee,
Thanks for the follow up, the couple times I guesstimated were both lower then Lea's track record, but I figured I was being prejudiced...'cause I love this horse:>) That is pretty amazing setting two track records in two GR I events without really trying!! TJ

Because he came on so quickly and because he's only run in three stakes, a lot of folks are still not seeing the greatness of this colt. There are those that still say that American Pharoah is superior (proving that media affects our perception). Usually we look back on horses of our youth as the best we've seen. I was at the '73 Belmont. While its hard to compare horses of different eras (I remember the Secretariat/Citation debates) Arrogate is the best horse I have ever seen.

I think he is magnificent, I am just not a fan of Baffert.
Unbridled's Song was one of my favourites, as was Unbridled, so I love seeing the sire line produce such a talented horse. The one thing I noticed about Arrogate is that he runs powerfully, and straight and true. No wasted action. I think someone said he carries his head too low, but I don't see that impacting him in anyway.

In the paddock video, something got his attention to the right. I thought he might just take off dragging his handler with him...
Wonder when the last time was he saw snow? If ever?

Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.

Hi Cree,
I agree and also love the Unbridled line. Arrogate moves beautifully and like the way he drops his head when he gallops. The lower the head when they gallop the longer the stride...it almost always indicates a long distance runner. Here are two of the three gallops he had at GP...I saw him when he galloped on the 25th, it was his 1st day galloping at GP so he had his head up more than usual checking things out. The 2nd day of galloping on the 26th, he settled in sooner, was at ease and comfortable and dropped his head....on the 27th, he was all business and galloped even better, but I can't find it on youtube. Check him out below with tiny Dana Barnes on board. Dana is one of the best and is married to Baffert's assistant trainer Jimmy Barnes, who can be seen picking up Arrogate after his gallop in the 26th video. TJ
