The GR III Lexington Stakes

Postby TJ » Wed Apr 11, 2018 3:18 pm

Though the points are just 20-8-4-2, it seems My Boy Jack might have to win those 20 points to assure his spot in the Derby. TJ

I will have to do some research, but my initial thinking is, what if the bodemeister offspring do not like the synthetic surfaces? Magicalmeister moving to the regular dirt might really move him up, and his figs over the plastic are not bad as it is.

Heavy thunder storms are expected Saturday in Lexington...it could reverse the order of the top 2. Also of interest is Billy Mott, he entered another maiden winner against Graded stakes company. Unusual move for him, now for the 2nd time in a row after maiden winner Hofburg finished 2nd in the Florida Derby...so keep an eye on Honor Up. TJ

Anyone think anything of Arched Feather?

I do like the Arch kids, but I’m not sure if he’s fast enough?
He has a bullet going into this, maybe that woke him up. Notes on him say he will appreciate the return to dirt.

I'm NOT a fan of Arch, but rather am grimly determined that the "feather" family will produce something amazing again. Dynamic Impact was on the Derby train a few years back. But looking back to In My Cap . . . I would have taken a shot on Arched Feather had I $$, but disappointing so far. Thanks for opinion!

Here's the results of the Lexington Stakes:
My Boy Jack...another exciting finish! With his 20 points, he's now solidly in place for his Derby berth.
Telekinesis...a good 2nd beaten in a photo.
Pony Up...3rd
Greyvitos...4th
