Old and out of date and incorrect.
It i reference to the AJC horses who are also marked in the ASB. When you look up one you will see the letters NTB (non TB) after their name. They are horses from the sprint racing days. There are indeed now Creams and OLWS Pos horses in the Australian stud book.

here is their answer

Hi Ben

There isn’t a specific register anymore, (one that is separate)

Non Stud Book Explanation

There are two reasons why some horses are classified as Non Stud Book

1. The horse cannot be traced back to a Thoroughbred in its pedigree, this is a true Non Stud Book horse, and cannot be promoted to Stud Book status.

2. For administrative reasons: the owners either would not or could not pay the stud book fees for the returns from 1930. Horses in this category can be promoted to Stud Book status by the Joint Proprietors of the Australian Stud Book.

So Ben do you register your horses as Non TB with Australian Stud Book.
I guess it would be possible to export a foal into the non TB stud book if it was registered in the UK first.
Thank you very much for finding out I am very greatful

Do the folks researching roan know about this family? They sure look like true roans in these photos.
