Interesting partial quotes from the aforementioned public site,

( http://equinecolor.info/content/ummm-th ... tch?page=2 )

authored by "ROANS RULE":

"...Lavendar Fields and Slip Catch have been sold and leave WA on Tuesday (22-2-2001) to reside at Winning Colours Farm in Rockley, NSW."

"... Slip Catch and Lilac Hill were so much alike it is hard to tell them apart."

"Odd Colours by the way lives on a station up north of WA. Not sure where yet. Another roan was sold without permission and he has no idea to it's where-abouts."

"...although [Catch A Bird] he left a little to be desired conformation wise he made up for it all in that he had a wonderful nature."

No, I don't think that is right, I think Peta use to ride him years ago and was owned by someone else :)

So what are you calling these:

Lavender Fields - TB filly - bay roan
Image

Pink Floyd - TB colt - red roan

Slip Catch - TB mare - bay roan

Slip Catch had so far 4 roan offspring and I think everyone will agree that these are TRUE roans.

Any recent news on these roans?

There's a notation on one of the CAB roans that they are "true" roans. Anyone know if, or what kind of testing was done on these animals?

It sure looks like the CAB roan was a unique mutation starting with Catch a Bird. It would be unlikely that it is the exact same mutation as the regular roan.

No they haven't been tested. They are called true roan because they are visually identical to classic roan. I agree it is unlikely it is the same mutation. We know of at least three different roan mutations as it is.

Belambi, have any of those splash TBs been tested for splash yet? I'm very curious to know if the tests work on them or not.
