The seller on e-bay says the caption reads 'Holocauste' and his attendants.

Thank you so much for deciphering the name and the information.
Oh what a sad story. The name was assigned on the 19th century but it was prophetic to this horse. Since his sire was a gray, his bald face now makes sense; that is, he ought to be a whitening gray rather than a bald blazed solid colored equine.
