Probable Japan's Champion 3-year-old
GOLD SHIP owes his grey color to a long forgotten
The Tetrarch grey branch. I am referring to the talented
First Fiddle. Seems like GOLD SHIP may resurface
that grey strain. Good luck!

Thank you very much for bringing up the name of RYOKAN.

It's a pleasant surprise to see again the name of his maternal sire, GODSWALK. By the way, do you know if the sire-line of GODSWALK,
(son of one-time France based stallion DANCERS IMAGE) has survived in France?

Thanks again for your participation. You are quite welcome to share more
on the stallion RYOKAN!

A very interesting comment regarding LOVELY OCEAN (Chi):
http://www.pedigreequery.com/lovely+ocean
who just arrived 11th in the 2014 Gran Premio Internacional Asociacion Latinoamericana de Jockey Clubes e Hipodromos (Gr. I)

Lovely Ocean’s grey lineage comes from a rare well-preserved maternal
grey strain coming from Tetratema, son of The Tetrarch. Lets unfold this maternal grey strain:

01. Tanto Carino (grey m 2004)
02. Tacos Bell (grey m 1996)
03. Taryn (grey m 1991)
04. Tess (grey m 1979)
05. Jarandilla (grey m 1963)
06. Tetrapetalous (grey m 1951)
07. Tetranela (grey m 1945)
08. Tetrasil (grey m 1937)
09. Tetratema (grey h 1917)
10. The Tetrarch (grey h 1911)

The 2006 dark bay or brown horse, Obeche http://www.pedigreequery.com/obeche2
carries a very interesting autonomous grey strain originating from
the grey sire Le Sancy (who was tail-male great grandsire of The Tetrarch).

Obeche’s second dam was the gray mare Borama.
Here is her gray strain going back to Le Sancy:

01. Borama (gray m 1981)
02. Borgia (gray m 1974)
03. La Beauvoisiniere (gray m 1967)
04. Altissima (gray m 1960)
05. Ad Altiora (gray m 1953)
06. Labrador (gray h 1937)
07. Biribi (gray h 1923)
08. La Bidouze (gray m 1915)
09. La Bidassoa (gray m 1907)
10. Semendria (gray m 1897)
11. Le Sancy (gray h 1884) (great-grandsire of The Tetrarch)

Alas there seems to be no 21st century grey descendant coming from Borama!
