It will be interesting to see what she goes for, you're almost exclusively bidding for her colour since that, for a racing prospect, is about as weak a page as you can get!

Does this sentence mean there have been 31 Palomino TB foals in 2007:

I would think thats what they are saying color ...

Ive had a few people email me this article now. What is her sire line like? I dont think the breeders even broke the dam and did anything with her at all, so someone is going to have to like the sire, like the filly and her type, to offer a good bid on her ...

Splash of Vanilla, a filly by Ballado Chieftan, probably will attract plenty of attention at the upcoming Keeneland January horses of all ages sale in Lexington because of her golden color. She is registered as a palomino.

It will be the first time Keeneland has offered a palomino Thoroughbred in Director of Sales Geoffrey Russell’s memory.

“I was surprised,” Russell said. “I didn’t know that The Jockey Club registered Thoroughbreds as palominos, but they obviously do. It will add a little bit of an extra twist to the sale like it does when we sell white horses.”

Produced by the Guaranteed Gold mare Maid of Gold TB, who is also registered with The Jockey Club as a palomino, Splash of Vanilla is from the family of stakes winner Knight’s Turn. Her consignor is Triple B Stables. The filly was bred in Minnesota by Thomas Bentley and Kevin E. Lay.

There is a Guaranteed Gold son in training now at Mountaineer that is heading to Florida this week to continue training and they hope to debut him in the early part of 2009 in Florida. They have really high hopes for him, say he is training fabulously well so hopefully he will be the first Guaranteed Gold foal to hit the track and show some race talent as well ...

Well - considering the bloodbath that sale was undergoing, $14,000.00 for that filly was very respectable

She showed well in person also - better than those original photos indicated and it will be fun to see if she is capable of doing well at the track once she starts running!

More and more of these palomino's are hitting the race tracks and hopefuly people will soon see that they are every bit as athletic and talented as some of their bay and chestnut counterparts ...

And uh oh ... looks the deal on the white colt didnt go through after all ... the line of credit established didnt allow the purchaser to go through with the deal on him ...

OMG, what do they do in that case?? I thought lines of credit were established prior to buyers bidding? I'd hate to think if that happened with 60K, then it could happen at the million dollar level too?
