I liked her when she was for sale early in 2008......here is a link to the prior thread:

I wonder what her story is.

she has a really interesting pedigree (this is not a commercial pedigree at all!) with lots of chefs and reigns, but no real black type

Her sire appears to be Pleasant Minstrel, although Brisnet lists her sire as the Aferd son Bluntnose (?). Because I happen to like the first sire more, I'm using that for my analysis! :)

She's $500 and 4 hours due south of me on I65. She is exactly what I don't want or need, but I thought someone else (esp. color breeders) might be interested.

I agree that her pic isn't well staged and she seems light, but someone go see her and tell us what you think.

I'd vote for Pleasant Minstrel, just based on her Northern Dancer style markings. Most of his direct offspring have 3-4 low white socks, and are bay.

She is NOT by Pleasant Minstrel. She is by Brokennose. The other entry in the pq database is a phantom.

According to Equineline she's by Pleasant Minstrel. Have they got it wrong?

While Equineline is usually the more accurate source, Pleasant Minstrel did not go to stud until 2004 - the year this filly was born. So they definitely got SOMETHING wrong.

I left her under Brokennose, with a note. I do still have some doubts, based on the fact that I can't find any other evidence of Brokennose as a sire. :? But I'll keep looking...

When I sent a message to Equineline they said she was the only foal in his 2004 crop, so perhaps she was a 'test' breeding?

While Brisnet and the APR both show her to be by Brokennose. Quite a mystery.

I had the same thought....but a Blood-Horse article states he was entering stud in October 2003, and she was foaled the following April. Still, he was unraced, so who knows WHAT he was up to.

Have you tried contacting Bris about their info?
