Ok for all you color gurus - what color is Mastercraftsman? I know he's registered chestnut but there's a lot going on in that coat. What do you call it?

By looking at his face on this photo:

one may say he is a "roaned" chestnut sabino. This opinion due to the fact that overall (whole body photo) he doesn't look like a graying out gray. But wait, since his dam is gray anything is possible, especially for a still young horse.

According to this other photo he doesn't seem like graying out. But again, who knows.

For what I can see, it is a grey horse, from a grey dam. If it was registered as chestnut, that should be corrected.

Yeah I'm not sure why he hasn't been corrected yet. He's just a late starter. But he's def. grey, greying face, greying flanks and barrel, dapples, etc. Just give him another year or so and you'll be able to tell more. He may be more of a steel grey but he's absolutely grey.

Hmmm, according to this additional picture he may well be graying out.

Those rounded spots are a giveaway. But let me tell you that he is graying out at a much slower pace than Spectacular Bid did. Very interesting case.

But he is still officially registered as "chestnut". Much more interesting! :D
