Contrary Rose -- where did her color come from?

I loved watching this mare in the early 80s, and was amazed by her color.

Does anyone know where her flashy sabino and rabicano characteristics came from? :?:

I wish I knew. I just remember how struck by her color I was the first time I saw her run.

With sabinos, on many occasions, when you see an inbred name in a pedigree its not there by chance. Djebel is playing a role here. But its Teddy, via Bull Lea, Sir Gallahad and Sun Teddy who is exerting a protagonic role here. There are many descendants from Bull Dog (no apparent marks and sire of Bull Lea) who are protagonic later on. Its like a mystery! Sun Teddy is more understandable. The conservatively marked Plucky Liege is also playing a role here.
