Update:
A collaborator has just informed me that a mare named Miss Silver Sage was also officially registered as a "gray", even though neither of her immediate parents were "grays". This new information confirms that in addition to siring Chance Dancer (an official "gray" coming from non-gray immediate parents) Gaelic Dancer also sired some very strange phenotyped progeny.

MISS SILVER SAGE pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/miss+silver+sage
Would really like to see a photo of all these cases!

Jorge,
If you aren't a member, you might want to join the TVG Forum. There are several folks over there that love Native Dancer, and if anyone can track down a photo of Chance Dancer, Mudmont probably could. (At least I'd bet that way)
With your love of greys, they should welcome you. They keep finding photos of Native Dancer sons and daughters--just amazing stuff.

Dear "xfactorfan",
Wow, thank you so much for the idea. I should join them albeit the available time is very limited. Something like Santa Claus trying to spread all the toys of the world in one night.
Thanks again for your always valuable assistance.

There MIGHT be a pic. here if you want to pay for the article, it is a 2 page one.

It's $4
I wonder if Chance Dancer was a Lucky Chappy sort of rabicano or sabino roan and got labeled grey?

Guess not, here he is mentioned in this article for being gray with no gray parents:

I would really rather suspect a mix up at the farm (or somewhere) here.
