Bold Phantom Go ...

Postby TrueColours » Wed Jun 09, 2010 6:14 pm

As Darla (Headless Horseman) had mentioned looking forward to breeding to him in the future, I told her that he had very unfortunately died last fall of a suspected heart attack, without producing one single TB foal ...

I think all he has on the ground is one APHA gelding and thats it

Such a shame. I had found the perfect mare to breed to him, I had made arrangements to buy her pending Phantom's owner okay to send the mare to her, and then I found out he had died last fall

He was so damned unusual and special and now those bloodlines are lost forever ...

His owner is, let us say it softly, VERY WEIRD. I had finally made her sell me that stallion some years ago and we had a contract. But about shortly before the payment was due, she backed out of the contract and told me she would not let him go. The contract did not give her that right but I thought its just not worth to get into a law suit over a horse and since money had not yet changed hands I did just let it go.

It is a shame that he had no chance to produce some nice foals due to his "weird" owner.

Gwen, It would be better if you would have said "That's too bad" than to bring up old trash.

I find it fascinating how many first time posters appear to say things like that. Where do these people COME from and what is their goal!?

I believe that I have updated my profile to answer your question.

Yes, that certainly does answer the question. I appreciate it. I still do find it fascinating (and this is not entirely directed at you, but a whole horde of others) that people seem to just APPEAR any time particular horses are mentioned when they don't appear to have ever been here before. Not that that's a problem... it's just odd.

Phantom,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your stallion. I rarely post here....like many I think I usually just read the interesting and helpful threads and skip over the rest. This time I thought it may be nice for you to hear that I admired your horse very much. He must have been special to you. It's nice when you can be fortunate enough to make a special connection with an animal, form a partnership with him, and in the end, let him live out his days with you and your family. In the end, you may or may not achieve wealth, popularity or applause for you efforts. But hopefully you can feel good about the time you spent with him and remember that it was worthwhile and it was enough. Noticed on your website that you did have several nice offspring. Hoping one of them is special to you and gives you pleasant memories of your beautiful Phantom. I'm sure everyone agrees that he was lovely and will be missed.
All the best to you.....
Karen
