My mare, with Joker B and Red Eagle lines, produced a black filly with a good sized solid hip blanket and a loudly spotted black near leopard colt. The mare was a grulla roan turning to leopard. She had black, chestnut and what looked like bay spots, with a blanket that was getting larger every time she shed out in the spring. When I bought her, her blanket was only on the hips, when I sold her it extended past her withers. Prince's Jim had 3 black spots on a solid white background.

Gorgeous, really gorgeous. Can you post her
All Breed Horse Pedigree?

Any possibility of initiating a "Points-to-Points" lineage from her?

Let's hope "Angrovestud" is closely following this topic for I would really
prefer their explanation and hands-on experience.

In short, it is about traveling the same pathway that Madame Elisabeth Couturie used when she crossed her blue-eyed pony gray mare, FANNY with the white Thoroughbred, MONT BLANC (1963) with the intention of prospectively crossing the resulting white foals with 100% percent Thoroughbred sires and so on until reducing the content of non-Thoroughbred blood to less than 1/64th fraction. Of course it takes some time.

The term "Points-to-Points" refer to certain European racing events reserved for non-100% percent Thoroughbreds that may eventually gain access to the Thoroughbred world.

Point to point races are cross country steeplechases. Many steeplechasers in Europe are not registered TB's. They have draft blood. Draft blood isn't accepted into the Appaloosa registry. I know this. I did breed Appaloosas.
I wouldn't consider that a legitimate way of introducing Appaloosa genes.

Ahh.. ok Got it.

No, not really, it would be a very long winded project.

Infact , not sure if the 8 generation rule still applies?

What is her base color? It doesn't say, or I missed it.
Somebody bet on the gray!

From what I remember, the 8 generation rule is long gone. I've always been told that the thoroughbred registry is completely closed now.

Let me quote some explanations already posted here several pages back that may better help understand this "Points-to-Points" issue.

angrovestud wrote:
Our current horse in training is 87.5% TB blood and he is the second cross as his sire is 75% TB blood I do not think you need to many crosses to race, if the horse have been bred from winning and placed racing stock we are giving a 7/8th colt a try he looks like a pure TB except for his colour patten, which is as Jorge says Tobiano our thinking will be if this colt does get placed and show he can keep up then we will have achived something we will then most probably put him on to our winnning mares and the resulting progeny will then be 15/16th TB blood out of winners.
If the colt wins thats a dream of a lifetime! and he would be unique in the UK & EU.

**********************

Thank you so much Jorge I would love to Export but to be able to I would need the JC to accept NTR Registered horses to race and to be JC registered so it will take more than my lifetime but we hopefully will be the start of it I hope!
our next generation will be 15/16th and be 93.75.
the next will be 96.87%
next will be 98.43
next will be 99.21
next will be 99.60
next will be 99.80
next will be 99.90

**********************

Oh Sorry Jorge all our stock when bred to pure TB will be weatherbys General Stud Book registered then we can export them anywhere in the word and be eligable to race with the JC.
I spoke to the director of the International committee who told me that there have been horses flown over to race in the USA that were only registered in the NTR foundation book and they got refused to the racecourse as they were not in the GSB.
if the JC were to follow the line and have an NTR themselves you could introduced what ever colours you like, would be good from a colour breeders point of view.

**********************

Hi belambi
Yes he could be registered as a foundation stallion if your rules allow and then put to TB mares then you have to keep crossing in a straight line to TBs we have a Homozygous Tobiano 7/8th as well but because he has not raced and not out of a TB we are no further foward other then the guarrentee of coloured offspring as the homozygous are not out of or by a TB lovely looking horse Brewed to Hot.

**********************

It will but not for 8 generations of two different lines so if you have some time on your hands the 9 generation you would bring them together

**********************

In fact, this is not new. There are various horses from the past carrying some of these "Points-to-Points" ancestors.
