It doesn't matter how many dilutes are in the background, all that matters for the foal's color is the color of the parents. If only one parent has a cream gene (heterozygous) then it is 50/50. If the other parent can add a cream gene then you have 25% cremello, 50% single dilute and 25% solid. That is chance for each foal not overall. Of course if you add double dilutes in there then it increases.

Each foal has the same toss of the dice, it's just bad luck so far that his color production is poor. The next 17 foals could all be palomino or buckskin. The only way to get guaranteed color production is to use a double dilute parent. For a stallion you need at least 50 foals and better yet around 100 to get a decent statistical result.

LOL, well I could only offer 12 mares, struggling to get the last two........

I will always have my beliefs as a breeder that think differently about the creme gene. I know the %'s ........call me stupid, stubborn, and a few other things, but I just do :wink:

3-23-2012 UPDATE

Palomino JC stallion "Legacy In Gold” was SOLD overseas in the Middle East to { Jordan } by agent, Centaur Farm in 2012!
He is currently in Quarantine in TX and doing fantastic!
His new Jordan owner will be breeding him to TB, Arab, & WB mares.
He will be living as a “King” and producing more of the finest offspring ever!
