A White Nose

Postby Linda_d » Wed Mar 23, 2011 6:01 am

I found this pretty boy on EquineNow, and I was intrigued by his white nose. Is that snip-like marking considered a sign of splash or frame or something or is it just an unusual marking? What do the "color gurus" amongst us think?

Such a cute picture--especially if someone Photoshops out all the poo . . .

It looks as though he has a white splash across his wither also.

Look at that dorsal stripe.....it zig zags....LOVE IT....

He sure is a cutie....I wouldn't mind something like that coming from one of my mares...

Definitely a splash thing IMO though he is also tobiano.

I am partial to snips on the noses of otherwise plain dark horses, so when I see an unusual one, I'm intrigued by it, which is why I asked about this guy.

Thanks all.

Here's a big star attached by a "string" to a big snip on this super tall chestnut colt.

Splash likes to put markings on the lower face esp. if it doesn't go down to the lower lip. Tobiano does not put white on the face. he sure is cute!
