Thank you everyone for your kind words and thoughts!
Harry and I are now at a turning point in our lives and will be venturing in another direction.
I prayed about this and got a very clear answer from God the other day.

We are liquidating and we know it could take years to sell out. We will no longer be breeding to any outside mares, only to our own until we are sold out. Many of our mares have proven to produce different colors and will be a good value to anyone wanting to raise their own color baby. Not often will anyone see TB mares bred to an Overo TB, that is offered for sale. I encourage you to look closely at what we have and make an offer. I bet you will come out nicely, as our past buyers know you will.

With all due respect, you will liquidate a LOT more quickly if you don't continue breeding your mares, but put them under saddle instead. The ones who are less than 6 months along should still be okay to ride, and for the rest, ground driving now will make a big difference later.

You have a few mares with decent race records who might be of interest--open--to race breeders in Louisiana or Arkansas. There are a couple more whose conformation and breeding makes them VERY attractive as foxhunters...but again, not if they are in foal.

You might also put out feelers to polo clubs, especially for the dilute and white foals. Patrons like horses that make them stand out on the field.

Kimberly, I respect and undersand your points truley I do.

The BM's we have are broodmares because most of them probably have an old injury. While we still have the the mares and any stallions I still want to offer the folks that are interested in TB color to have an option of buying something in foal from us. As you know, we are way out numbred by racing farms, and are by no means any competiton for them and their millions. We exist because I love what I do. This is the only way I will bow out of this chapter in my life, is if I breed my way out of it. We offer high quality foals wether solid or color. Who knows............. if our life changes again, we my be putting a select few on the track as well.

Still "Breeding your way out of the horse business" was not exactly what came to mind when I read "TOTAL LIQUIDATION SALE".

Isn't it a wonderful country that we live in that we can do as we want, I think so.

No we are not having your typical 'bring your longest and tallest cattle trailer so you can fill up with as many unwanted TB foals as you can stuff in" Liquidation like some states are doing.
We're not even turning ours loose here in the beautiful green hills of TN for them to starve and get hurt.
Or dumping them at the darkest slaughter horse sale we can get to, only to watch them sell for $25 a head.........

We are a small pin drop specialized breeder who is going to breed for high quality color horses, until we get down to exactly what we want to keep.
How about that :D

That is a really good idea, but is about as far from a "total liquidation" as you can get.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Umm, one migt think so, but I have actually priced every animal I own except the leased, lifetime leased, or Puchi mare I bought. So in reality, someone could come and buy us out.
We do have other private plans for our future, so this is a start towards that. The bushes are shaking and buyers are slowly coming out checing their wallets and shopping, so I'm pleased with the results.

In my opinion, it doesn't look good to sell a broodmare that is left open. I've tried it before and got similar rude remarks to my ad. I just need to keep my mouth shut

It's freedom of speech Katie. You have rights.
This board used to be kinder, don't let them spook you.
I think doing both is right.
Leave them open if you want to, so they are ready for someone else.
Especially if you can't afford to breed, forget it, walk away.
Breed them for high qality if you think there will be a quality buyer for the foal.
If your not sure what to do, I tell folks don't.
