Moonlark

Moonlark ran at Keeneland today. He's got a huge white spot(s) on his belly and look at those legs!
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.

FANTASTIC pedigree and NOT one I'd have expected to see a dominant white from, but I'm pretty darned sure that's a DW.

Just curious, why Dominant White, and not Sabino?

That super patchy/spotty belly white and the edges of the markings scream dominant white to me. The blaze too actually. Any time I've seen markings like this it's virtually always been on a known dominant white.

This probably goes back to the old "what we used to call sabino... which is now known to be dominant white" argument.

If memory serves, Laptop had an Unbridled's Song foal (born chestnut but grayed out) that was quite flashy. At the time I attributed it to Unbridled's Song, but maybe Laptop was passing it on? Anyone have pictures of her?

The color is definitely coming from Laptop.

Here are links to pictures I found on TBC boards:

I remember him being reported here previously thanks to the curious name of his mom (LAPTOP)

Good to know he is running and a winner. :D

His face and legs are cute enough but those striped hooves? Luv.
Somebody bet on the gray!

Why not? There's a forum member on HGS whose got a similarly marked Gone West and remember that Johar yearling with the blue eyes you posted before (I know blue eyes don't generally go with DW, just adding him in from that sire line)? GW has put out some interesting horses over the years :)

I'm also wondering if Phone Trick is hiding something. He's had some overly blingy chestnuts.

Oh Gone West definitely produces some interesting stuff, but not enough for me to think DW.
