Chestnut of Interest

Postby Sailor Kenshin » Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:00 am

This son of Tapit who ran in Aqueduct's first today, seems to lean flaxen (at least on my TV monitor!) and also has plenty of white: big blaze, knee socks in front, anklets in back.

But --my ignorance is showing-- how does a gray and a bay produce a chestnut?

Somebody bet on the gray!

The gray was either chestnut based himself or Ee. The bay was also Ee. Thus either a 25 or 50% chance of chestnut, depending on the grays base color.
