They are comparing her to a lethal white, but I find that hard to believe. What do you think is really going on here?

Looks like a dilute of some type. The stripes are clearly there, just not in black. Maybe the zebra version of chestnut?

seems like it would be the cremello of zebras with those blue eyes.
