Wild Bay Blonde Fog

Postby xfactor fan » Thu Mar 07, 2013 1:06 pm

Take a look at this filly. Looks wild bay to my eye. Light bay, low points, smutty dark on the upper legs, not true black.

However, where did this come from? I thought Wild Bay was dominant to regular bay. Or has that changed?

Most of the horses in her family tree are bay, most a very dark bay.

Ideas?

Here's her pedigree over at the Sporthorse database, Better pictures of most of the horses.

She's only 3 and she has some black up on her knees and hocks. I bet she was only 2 in the photo. Her points could easily become more apparent as she ages.

Wild bay is supposedly dominant to bay but there is really zero proof either way.
