Can you share the name and pedigree of this very interesting case?

Google Translation:

Silvery Moon is the most colorful horse that ever was in the team of Mario Hofer. And the very prominent, right left front of the main barn. Not to be overlooked. A pinto especially the stained article with two different colored eyes. Right blue, brown left. "We have bought ourselves primarily as a fun horse," said Mario Hofer, "rather than a racehorse." On Tuesday, the yearling went through the auction ring at ARQANA and was sold for 12,000 euros Manfred Hofer. "There was applause throughout the auction ring," says trainer Mario Hofer, no wonder, because the horse was the eye catcher of the whole auction.
A horse with two faces, "a thoroughbred pass" stressed Manfred Hofer, "so that we can run with it theoretically race." Try to do the Hofer brothers who still have to decide among themselves the exact ownership, which in each case, because such a horse has star potential. Although the classical descent for a racehorse is not available, "but as a riding horse there is always a market for it." In any case, Silvery Moon is now to me exercising normally. "The looks great," says coach Hofer, "now weighs 480 kilos - Pastorius itself does not bring much more on the scale." The father I was Framed comes from the USA, a race itself has never been disputed and its clear number of offspring was previously also winless, after all, ended the two-year-old Markus Tregoning-trained Gilded frame with Hayley Turner in the saddle on his third life starting in Leicester September at a second place, the mother could Artzola gewinnnen a few smaller races.
"Look First" is the motto at Mario Hofer, while the brother Manfred, the main job is now working again as an agent, is already beginning to make plans for the marketing, "This is a horse with a lot of imagination - but I'm going to think of something leave! "

Hello, Jorge,
Silvery Moon qwill start the first tim on Wednesday at Maisons-Lafitte (France) in 12000 meter race. According our Racing paper "Sportwelt", he will face 10 other runners.

He is in ownership with Mario Hofer, Franz Prinz von Auersperg and Echkatrd Sauren.

Bettina: I think you meant 1,200 meters race (about 6 furlongs), not 12,000 meters.

Well, somebody had to. Hopefully, he'll do better next time.

Jorge, thank you for the compliment on my earlier post in this thread!

If some leading sire produces an outstanding overo colt out of a stakes producing mare and that colt burns up the track and then retires to a successful stud career in Kentucky, that's how overo TBs will become common on race tracks -- providing he passes on his overo markings with some regularity.

Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure.

The winner will come from what is currently being bred, no where else unless a new frame line occurs. This wonderful PQ once again tries to discourage the goals of others, and calls it the "COLOR CORNER". This has become the last place I ever come online, and for a reason, because very good things are happening on the horizon, glad there is facebook where great things can be shown in the future, it won't be here.

Factoid:

"The Color Corner" is devoted to the phenotype of Thoroughbreds and there is another section: "Racing", which deals with running abilities.

My reaction when I saw the photo above was, wow, good, great photo and beautiful creature. I feel very proud of admiring that photo as if the equine belonged to yours truly. I earnestly encourage your solidary participation.

Factoid - I know what I read Jorge.

MattieCat is a very sharp young lady, the next generation after we are long gone.

'Phenotype' as you put it is starting to race, and you will see more hit the track in the near future, and one day they will win. They have already started.

MattieCat's ideas were completely shut down instead of being supported and developed, giving her ideas of what she was saying could be a success.

How does that help at all, it doesn't...........it's very clear to folks that used to post on here that certain people are welcome and others are not.

Your post is poppycock. The only poster who was in anyway "unhelpful" was Dublino, but that's just the way he is. Everybody else pretty much explained why they thought it wasn't likely that there would be many colored TBs running and winning any time soon.

Xfactor_Fan brought up the likelihood that color might come from the Sunday Silence descendents in Japan that are bred as runners first.
Color found the info on the colt Silvery Moon running in Europe.

I went back and reread the posts in this thread, and IMO, that you are miffed because we didn't agree with MattieCat says a great deal more about you than about MC. If you wish to fantasize about breeding a spotted Kentucky Derby winner from stock that hasn't produced a winning race horse in several generations, that's fine, but don't criticize others for not sharing your fantasy.

Furthermore, FWIW, not everybody is enamored of horses with lots of white. I myself am partial to dark bays with very minimal white, and no white is even better. However, it's just color, and I sure wouldn't turn down a good horse just because she was a bright bay sabino with four high ragged stockings, roan ticking, a couple of belly spots, a big blaze and white from her chin up her throat latch. In fact, I didn't.

Very bitter people here don't want to see any color race, that is very obvious, enjoy yourselves and your pitiful rude ways as always!!

Reedhill,

I'm not sure exactly where you are coming from with your posts. I don't think anyone was deliberately insulting colored TB's. Or breeders of colored TB's or the chances of a colored TB becoming a graded stakes winner.

I mentioned Glitter Please as an example of what can happen to oddly colored TB in the past, this assumes they weren't knocked on the head right after birth. Glitter Please who was bred as a race horse, not a show horse, or sport horse, was sold out of the racing world pretty much as soon as his foal coat shed, and it was clear he was going to be a very golden palomino. The dressage rider Gigi was contacted by the farm manager who suggested that Glitter Please would make a good dressage prospect. Glitter Please was not ever given the chance to run on the track. To see if he could make it as a race horse.

Oddly colored TB';s have been select against since the beginning of the breed. Some of this is fashion, but in part it reflects the military history of the breed. Solid colors are easier to match for parade formation. Solid dark colors are harder to see at night. If you are going to sneak across enemy lines at night would you rather ride a dark bay/black horse with no white, or a wildly marked pinto with lots of white?

If a small farmer goes into horse breeding, providing the market with what they want, is the best way to succeed. The military in large part is responsible for the dominance of the trotting horse, not the lateral gait horses. Trotters keep to formation better than the gaited horses. (According to the Army)

I don't think that his odd markings hurt Marquertry's stud career. He proved himself on the track, and from what I can see was marketed to the racing crowd.

Not Quite White, dam of Airdrie Apache was bred to be a racehorse. I"m not sure about AA himself. It looks like they bred Not Quite White to Naevus (solid with a white patch) with the hopes of getting color. Which of course they did. AA never raced. Was never given the chance to prove his worth to the racing crowd.

Some of the Painted Desert white horses were in training at Emerald Downs--Barbara Livingston has some wonderful photos of them. But the didn't seem to come to much.

Good luck to all the breeders of colored racehorses, and perhaps one day, there will be a great racehorse in something other than bay, brown or chestnut.

Would love to see a similar photo taken from his left side for comparison of both sides. This sui-generis colt deserves very good evidence for the future.

Airdrie Apache really should have been given the chance to race, at least in Texas. He was one of the best racing bred colored TBs out there. Naevus was one of the best sires Texas ever saw and the dam side didn't look too shabby for local running. I guess this is where the bias against color really comes in because that horse should definitely have been able to run, but they never even gave him a chance, likely due to his color.
