Hmmm, of course, quite interesting. Seems like an extended application of nature's Peacock rule, where these are more flamboyant for the sake
of their reproductive role. Thanks for bringing up this sometimes forgotten angle.

Now I ask myself, if for the sake of achieving a good "roaned" foal it is better to use a not-so-loud "roaned" mare (instead of a heavily roaned one) just as the great Bull Hancock avoided using too masculine-looking mares. Is there a good logic behind this approch?

Not for color, you want to use more color because less color (probably) has more suppressors.
