I have a chestnut mare that has a sheen like a copper penny. She has a few small areas of white hairs on her sides. She also has cream spot on her neck. I don't really know anything about genetics and colors. I've never seen this shade of chestnut. It's like the tips of her hair are golden. Does anyone have an idea about this? I'll get some pictures.

A metallic sheen is a trait of Akhal-Tekes. That may have been preserved in TBs and come through in your horse.
