Palomino's

Can anyone tell me about the Palomino color and any performance history?

Here's one that race trained, but I don't know if he worked.

I will have a 2021 foal by Friend or Foe, 50% chance at being palomino. Foal will be out of O'Golden Fair Rose out of Gin Ruler. Not sure performance history on those currently out there. Most are being bred as sporthorses, not racehorses.

I've seen a few race, half decently - and there's one curious looking chestnut/semi-Palomino looking one in GB I've seen. Since the Quarterhorse was bred from thoroughbreds, and there are far more palomino-quarterhorses than TBs I would suspect that they might be speedier, rather than stayers.

While on the topic - watching the Skelleftea races in Sweden today (too much time on my hands) there was a trotter : Philip
by Briskeby Philip out of Påls Erlin . This guy looked like a palamino. The sire has the same coloration - but these are 'cold blooded' trotters. Unusual breed. Don't have much info and I don't read Swedish.
Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.
