Genetic scrambled eggs? Premature aging? Over ambitious groom? Or a practical joke? Some gray in his tail. Will he go all gray?

She has what is called a Galastra Plume which is a grey tail on (normally) bay. Pretty unusual to see it in the mane also. It could be related to her sabino-esque markings, some of those dilutions also cause grayish dilution of the black points and not always equally. It is common in the bay sabino Clydesdales. Sadly in Thoroughbreds the grey tends to disappear as they get older and they have just regular black points.
