Don't miss to read this article on CON JUAN's millionaire paternal half-brother: ECHO EDDIE. Read the article at:

http://archive.ctba.com/07magazine/nov/ ... owEcho.pdf

By the way, is there any 2013 news on CON JUAN (grey h 2004)?

2-time Allowance winner Con Juan happens to be the only entire surviving grey-tail-male lineage descendant coming from Haskell Invitational winner Restless Con (a son of Restless Native, and grandson of the great Native Dancer).

It seems obvious that the tail-male lineage of IRON WARRIOR
has been kept alive on purpose. But I ask if there is any 2013
news on his second generation progeny?

More on CON JUAN's sire:

Back in June 24, 1991, at Golden Gate Fields (8thrace – Au Revoir Invitational Handicap) RESTLESS CON, sire of CON JUAN, established a new track record (and new world record among greys) for the distance of 8-1/2 furlongs on dirt. He led all the way while clicking :22.50; :45.30; 1:08.30; 1:33.10; and 1:39.50 for the 1-1/16 mile.

I would really like to know if it is possible to find this race at youtube.

It would also be nice if the 1990 edition of the Haskell Invitational, also won by him in a shocker, can be added.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Another relative to CON JUAN http://www.pedigreequery.com/con+juan (Still alive?)

Here is another entire descendant of Restless Native (via Jolly Johu)
with an incredible record of durability, who also made it to the
breeding shed:

http://www.pedigreequery.com/land+of+the+free

Handicap (1 start)
Allowance (32 allowance starts)

More on Con Juan:

Con Juan represents the last surviving gray-tail-male lineage from the great Native Dancer. As many of you know, several of his best talented gray sons went to stud such as Native Charger, Dancer's Image, Banderilla, Gaelic Dancer, Dancing Dervish, Jig Time, Moving Target, Mito, Iron Warrior, Natidan, Grand Revival, Dancing Cap, Gallant Native, Executive Officer and Restless Native, just to mention a few. From all these names only a handful names managed to uphold the "Gray Ghost's" gray color via his tail-male lineage. These were Native Charger, Dancer's Image, Jig Time, Iron Warrior, Dancing Cap and Restless Native. The last gray sire from Native Charger was Chargingthrough and vanished. The last from Dancer's Image disappeared in France and Japan in the late 80's. The case of Jig Time has an asterisk because his gray descendant Pistols and Roses has several gray ancestors mixed with the gonads of The Dancer. Dancing Cap managed to sire Oguri Cap (1990 Japan Horse of the Year), but his lineage disappeared when Sunday Silence overwhelmed in Japan.

The only surviving case is Restless Native (1960), who at the end of his breeding career at 27 got from an 18 year old mare (Filouette) one last good achiever in the Group-1 winner, Restless Con (Haskell Invitational). Restless Con is also the world record holder among grays for the distance of 8-1/2 furlongs (dirt) when he lead all the fractionals of the Au Revoir Stakes and clicked 1:39-3/5 at Golden Gate.

If you examine Restless Con's sire table you will notice that he was a good stallion, siring Echo Eddie, a near $500,000 achiever (Mike K) and several scintillating speedsters who always clicked extraordinary times at the track. Unfortunately, he ended up in the State where many horses are gelded unnecessarily (Best Pal) and practically all his sons have been gelded.

Actually, Con Juan has a good chance of becoming a good stakes winner, just as his full brother Con Quixote. Since it is a fact that practically all of Restless Con's sons (and daughters) are speedy late bloomers. I really think that given a proper time he may even be part of the field of the BC Sprint this year or in 2009. In fact, his full brother raced as a 7-year-old.

Con Juan, the only remaining entire gray-tail-male-lineage descendant from the mighty Native Dancer, proved in 2007 that given sufficient time, he may be worth the 2008 Breeders Cup Sprint field. He ran third during the first 4 furlongs (21:67 and 44:4, then advanced to second (5 furlongs in 56:62), to finally stalk during all the stretch outdueling second place finisher in 1:09.07 Con Juan is still maturing.

Would like to know if this tail-male lineage (Restless Native/Restless Con/Con Juan) is still among us.

Thanks in advance for any July 2014 update!!!

Would really appreciate if some of you may help us
with an update on these less conspicuous grey tail-male
lineage descendants of Native Dancer, Dancers Image and Iron Warrior.
