Enable wins the English Oaks

During a lot of rain and thunder Enable (Frankie Dettori) won the Oaks for Prince Khalid Abdullah and trainer John Gosden. It was a real thriller to watch this race.
Enable is from the first crop of Nathaniel out of a daughter of Sadler's Wells.

Just now this tremendous filly won the Yorkshire Oaks on hands and heels and for me she is the favourite for the Arc!

Track is different configuration than last Arc, I don't think it will win.

Today we saw history. Now she is the Queen of racing, Enable won today the Diamond Stakes after a ferocious battle with Crystal Ocean. She is so tough.

This coming sunday we may see something very special, something which has never happened before. Enable will try to win the Arc for the third time. The mare is in splendid form and so are her trainer and jockey.

Tension is growing....

Because she is so eager to race, John Gosden will send her to Chantilly today, where she will stay overnight in peace and quiet, in stead of being at Longchamp.

The going is very soft, but she has proved to win on that.
I do hope that some of you will watch this race even though it is very early!

She didn't make it, became second behind the German horse Waldgeist on very testing ground.

Hello,
I could hardly believe, when I saw the result of the "Arc" at Longchamp.

Waldgeist is from a very old and succesful Family called "Waldrun" in Germany, the foundatinmare is "Wie So" (by Ossian) and was imported from thze Czechslowakia during 1920's.

But it wasn't the only very good result for our homebreds. Alson (Areion-Assisi by Galileo, bred by The Schlenderhan Stud) was secondplaced in
the "Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere" a race for Juveniles.

regards, Bettina

Thank you Bettina, the amazing Galileo suits every mare! When you see the race, you can hardly believe that the ground was sticky, Waldgeist was flying.

Frankie Dettori is “absolutely buzzing” following the surprise announcement that Enable is to race on next year at the age of six, a reaction that will be widely shared among racing fans.
The veteran mare, whose winning run came to an end in Paris last week, had already been ruled out of Champions Day this weekend and followers of the sport had begun to reconcile themselves to the likelihood she had run her last race and would now be packed off to her owner’s stud in Newmarket.

On saturday The Queen of Racing will be on course for a third Diamond Stakes success, a triumph which no one before her ever achieved. Her opponents will be all coming from Coolmore. Will she make it?
