I am fairly new to the world of International Racing, and am trying to learn as much as I possibly can.

Anyways, I was reading an article today from Australia and came across the term 'dead' as a descriptor of the track surface. Specifically it mentioned that the track was rated at dead 4. Can anyone explain this descriptor for me?
