deadheat certainly needs the blessing of the God...no one could work out the probability for that event to happen I bet.
But it did happen not now but in the long past..when the measuring or tracking devices or methods were all so backward.
I accidentally came across a forum wedsite which listed a few :
1851 defaulter/squire of malton/reindeer/pulcherrima
1851 overreach/unexpected/gamster/ladygolight…
1953 lingfield nov14 candia/clune deadheated for first with little honey/spring chick deadheating for third.
Triple deadheating involving a stakes race is extremely rare..the famous one happened on June 10, 1944, the Carter
Handicap at Aqueduct racetrack : Brownie, Bossuet and Wait A Bit were all tied for 1st.
Finally who remember the most exciting deadheat for 1st in a G1 event ? That was in 2003 in the 12F BC turf in which both
High Chaparral and Hahar were declared joint winners.
There must be many more such exciting stories in racing...anyone ?
