Apparently this kind of thing is pretty widespread in LA. A client of mine bought a mare from an established TB farm in LA last March and this is what she looked like straight off the trailer with her foal due in just two weeks:

The driver told me "everything on that farm looks like that". In Lexington, a few stallion managers I chatted with told me horror stories of horses they sent to LA that died or disappeared. Mainly mares, but stallions that were not cared for also. One manager commented, "They just do things different there."

And I contacted many Louisiana people...nobody care...Our industry is dying for many reasons and two of the main ones are drug and horse abuse...and nobody wants to do anything. This is a classic case of apathy so common in America. Apathy is the worst vice here in our countries. And we are being oblitered because of it. I am ashame of the horseracing industry as a whole and horse people as a group. And yes I know Madeleine,Louisiana is a terrible state for horse abuse and other animals too but that should not stop "good" people to react...I just wonder,is there any humans with souls left?

Yep theres a few farms in Kentucky that do the same thing. Dont feed there horses. Quit making it look like Louisiana is the only state that doesnt feed there horses.

As I said in the other thread, those that think I AM wrong about this situation are ones that are guilty themselves. For Shame.

You are so right S.H.

I haven't read one word from a poster that thinks you are wrong about feeling the way you do. Objections to what you are saying are directed to the way you are saying what you think, and your gross generalizations about things you don't know anything about.

They took 47 of them but more are there still...And note that some were taken in 2012 as well and 2 have already succombed of starvation since yesterday.

Now what were you saying "officer"? Something like it ain't that bad ???And it is getting better?
And this guy has horses racing a few days ago, what are the racing officials doing???Where are the stewards when needed???

I was merely posting that it looks like LA Horse Rescue has them and included links so people could contact the rescue group if they felt so inclined.

I was glad that it seems to be in the process of being addressed. This is exactly why I hate posting on this forum. It looks like you're suggesting that I feel this isn't a bad situation and that's simply not so.
