*A grass horse that raced in Europe and in CA. He's gorgeous. 16.3, built uphill, beautiful head and very kind temperament. He's at Dormello II Stud in Decatur, TX.*

I checked out his picture, and unfortunately, while he has a pretty head, his picture doesn't show that he's built uphill. I do not like his topline and the way his neck is set into the shoulder for a sportshorse.

The picture may not do the horse justice, but then that's a mistake on the part of the owners. None of the picture on their web page impress me as being professional. Their other stallion looks terrible. Again, it may just be the pose and picture, but that's all a web-visitor has to go by.

Sorry to post negative stuff, and i don't mean to offend anybody, but the TB race breeders need to find better ways of representing their breeding stock to the public. Some stud farms offer video footage which is most interesting and a lot more attractive; you can see the horses move at least at the walk, and while this isn't the whole story, it does allow you to see more of a stallion than just a still photo. Makes a difference. There is no way one can go visit every stallion that a breeder considers to breed their mare to. We could produce better, more durable, and conformationally sounder TBs, if we had better, more honest information.

Just my opinion, of course.

I have a stallion that you may be interested in. He has just started his new career as an event horse in July of 2004. He was right off of the track and after one month of schooling, he won his first two times out. He is very sound after racing for 8 years. He is a beautiful horse, is very athletic and very well bred. His name is Just a Devil, by Devil's Bag out of Seattle Drama. Our website is http://www.cedarbrookfarm.com if you are interested in taking a look at him.

sb........in reference to the DormelloII stallions......I don't know who he uses for his advertising, but the pictures DONOT do the horses justice. I haven't even looked at the website, but the pics. in the TX TB Stallion Register are awful. I went to see Sharan before I ever even saw a photo of him. Probably a good thing!

You might take a look at Deputed Duke, standing in Texas for 2005. He's a former moderately successful racer who has gone on to be a successful sport horse. He has much of the physical/temperment traits you are looking for. His owner/shower has decided to stand him this year - introducing him for breeding to race or compete. Here's the link to her site - be sure you get to the photo gallery for this horse where you can see him racing(winning!), jumping, doing dressage and just 'being a horse'. He sure is elegant in photos and I met and liked his owner at the Breeders Cup - very nice woman.

And here's a link to the Texas Thoroughbred Association Stallion Season Auction site - the auction has closed but you might be able to still purchase the remaining season for Duke at the listed discounted price.....

There's also a season offered for bid on the LSU site but I'm not sure of it's status.

Actually I just took a closer look at the link to the Texas Thoroughbred Association's Online Stallion Seasons Auction - Seasons still available and Deputed Duke's offered season is not among them - so that season is gone.

Mystic Connection has Bonne Nuit in his sireline/jumper bred

Postby francesca » Thu Jan 13, 2005 3:35 pm

Mystic Connection is a substantial, beautifully conformed thoroughbred with a great deal of presence. He has powerful, elastic movement, a wonderful temperament, excellent character, and tons of jumping ability. He exhibits a very confident, self-assured personality. Mystic Connection combines all of this with a truly world class performance pedigree.

Mystic Connection's bloodlines represent some of the top national and internationally proven jumping bloodlines available in North America. His sire, Macsen's Sword, produced top hunter/jumpers and event horses including: My True Knight; Amber Lust; and International Event Mare Guinevere's Gift.

His dam, Mystic High, was the USCTA mare of the year in 1988. She was a very successful international event horse by the outstanding sire Babamist, whose offspring have proven themselves to be very successful in the eventing world. A few of Babamist's prodigy include Heyday, who was a Pan Am Gold Medalist, Olympic Silver Medalist, and World Championship Bronze Medalist ridden by Bruce Davidson; Snowy River, who was a member of the USCTA Team at the European Championship at Burghley in 1987 and ridden by Phyllis Dawson; Chamikazi ridden by Kim Morani; Epiphany ridden by Cynthia Holz; Good Force ridden by Lisa Lewis; Mystic Milo ridden by Mary Hazzard, My Turn ridden by Mary Hazzard, Patrick Anyway ridden by Linden Wiesmann, and many others, too numerous to list.

-- Special consideration for mares with outstanding performance and/or produce
record.

-- Multiple mare discount.

-- Live foal guarantee.
