Is anyone familiar with American Day (Nureyev/King Pellinore), particularly as a sport horse sire? How about Caveat (Cannonade/The Axe)?
I picked up a mare who was on her way to a bad situation. She is by American Day and out of Melladona (by Caveat) and in foal to Smile Again (Wild Again/Starr de Naskra). Her name is Xelodonia (California bred). I have her race results as well as those of her parents but would love to hear any personal experiences or opinions with the horses in her immediate pedigree as well as Smile Again.
Thank you!

American Day was sold at the '03 Barretts Mixed October sale from the consignment of Golden Eagle Farm. He was bred and owned by Golden Eagle Farm and stood at their farm prior to being sold. He was bought for $7,500 by Sandy Mattel. Here is a link to his page at the sale...

I worked at that sale and went over to check him out. He was housed in his own temporary stall away from the mares and babies. He came out strutting, apparently he has quite the opinion of himself. I remember him being kind of narrow and fine boned, but nicely balanced and attractive.
