Hey Crystal,

Girl is doing wonderful. Her eyesight is completely gone in the left eye but she has no issues with infection, swelling, weeping..absolutely nothing! Clean bill of health which is just wonderful. She has not missed a meal at all, but I put her on Fastrack Probiotics and Fortifier just in case her gut is alittle messed up from all the medication and moving to a new home and all. Now just trying to decide before Feb. who to breed her to! She is an absolutely beautiful near black and just a little narrow in her chest but that will come with age since she is only 4 and not done maturing.

Thanks for asking....
Gerry

Hey Crystal,

Wanted to give you an update on Girl Gone Wild. Her eye is beginning to clear a little in the upper corner, looks as if some of her eyesite is returning since she watched a cat walk across the aisle and never turned her head once. When I put my hand up she blinked, the vet will be here on Monday, but as though at least some of her eyesight will come back to the eye.

Hi Gerry,
wow I'm glad they ended up in good hands. You are brave for taking on so many from the fairs. :D How many studs do you have now?? Will you be at the NY sale on the broodmare end? I'm thinking of going to window shop, but thats about all.

Hi Crystal,

I think I will be at the Saratoga sale on Tuesday only, my partner on my Allens Prospect mare has a few horses he is selling with his other partner and he asked me to go see them at the sale for him since he lives in NC.

What amazes me is the pedigrees of the mares that I have bought this year by not buying at public auction and buying right off the track. In addition to the NoHo mare, we have gotten mares by Dehere, Caller ID, a granddaughter of Nashua (love that female line!) and a few others, at much less cost then when I buy at the sales.

We have 5 stallions for next year, 2 are just entering stud in 05, Not A Corgi stood his first season this year and then the 2 old boys.

Will have our hands full in the spring with foaling and breeding and will love every minute of it!

If I make it to Saratoga I would love to meet you!

Hi Gerry,
I know what you mean, I scored a Devil His Due, and a Runaway Groom straight from the track. turned over the Runaway Groom mare for a nice profit. Broke even on the Devil His Due, but she is infoal to a nice NY stallion right now. I also keep a eye out. I have a list of some stallions and broodmare sires I want to put in my herd.

Crystal and Doublete: I posted some pictures of Girl Gone Wild on my site at www.norcrestfarm.com/girlgonewild.html She has adjusted well and her "bad" eye is the one against the rail but she didnt seem to have any problems as she kicked up her heels.

My "use" for sales has changed I will get most of my prospects off the track but cannot pass up a good deal on an old mare with a decent produce record or tremendous race record at the sales either!
