We just bought an AQHA mare over the weekend and she has TB on her papers. She has High N' Wry M, 1981 DP= 5-4-10-05 (24) DI= 1.40 CD= 0.17 This is her granddam. I need to know what the DP= is and all the numbers that follows, also what does DI= mean and what does CD= mean? We are AQHA owners and this is the first yellow papered mare, so we know that she has no points. What we want to know is how to read the TB bloodlines on her papers. She also has Esops Foibles , Wry Swiss, Nashua, Checkered Career, Droll Role, and Geneva II. We would really like to learn how to read these bloodlines and learn what the letters and numbers mean. Also we would like to know if these are good bloodlines for TB or just so so bloodlines.
Thanks~

Esop's Foibles, the sire of the TB mare you are asking about, died in 1982, so only had 1981 and 1982 foals (mostly fillies!) but didn't live long enough/produce enough to do anything of note, and he came from a family that produced relatively very few horses at all. He was a G2 & G3 winner.

Someone far more knowledgeable than I can advise you regarding the depth of the pedigree, but what is "telling" in an APR listing is that the mare had a filly who went through the Keeneland September Yearling Sale (one of the more prestigious sales) five years after the half sibling Chocolate Swiss won a stakes race and only brought $15K against a $50K stud fee, meaning that the filly was probably very unimpressive. Doesn't mean High N' Wry wasn't a NICE mare, but she was unraced and there isn't much catalog material here.
