What Colour Could She Be?

My mare is registered to be a bay. However, especially in the summer, her colour is really chestnut with black points. She also has a prominent dun stripe. Is she still a definative bay, or could one say that she is a dark dun??

If your mare is registered with the Jockey Club, you can be satisfied that she is registered as a bay. If you look at their color definitions, she probably IS a bay. They don't recognize dun as a color.
