Arkadash

Postby Inyureye » Tue Feb 09, 2010 6:27 am

I've enjoyed looking up the pedigrees on horses I have owned and those of my friends, when we were kids. One TB was brought home from a camp, a 15.2 OTTB bay, with no white (that I remember) TB named - and its was pronounced like this - Arkadash. He turned out to be a hell of a jumper, even though he was of slight build and looked gangly. This was when I was 14 or so, so it was around, say, 37 years ago or so. He was probably a 6 to 10 year old or something.

I have not been able to find in the Jockey Club an Arkadash, Archodash, Arcodash - does anyone have any suggestions about a spelling or can come up with an OTTB around then? Thanks for any help.
Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

The only bay TB geldings foaled ~1960-1970 with names even remotely like 'Arkadash' that I found were Arrc Flash (raced 13 yrs. so probably would not have been at a camp in 1973), Apple Dash, Arklawin, & Arky's Image
