x factor

Postby tammysinnett » Tue Dec 26, 2006 8:36 am

ok shoot me....I am still on this...large heart thing...WHen looking at the pedigree I now understand about the red line and blue(thankyou) but since the mother ususally passes it on to the son and the son to the daughter why would the red line not carry throughout the pedigree , why does it end abruptly? Is it because it was only one sided and they feel the gene was finally bred out by breeding to non x factor noted bloodline?? I am looking on my stallions to try to understand, his name of course is Summit Climber....The only x factor I see is on his mother side....but see Summit does not have the red line......

Tammy, the labels as applied in the db are largely arbitrary. See the thread on the x-factor in General Discussion.
