CAMERONIAN - Classic winner

Postby the Ol'Line Rebel » Tue May 15, 2007 9:58 am

Hi, Cameronian is another horse who is a classic winner but it is not noted. Nonetheless, he is locked, so it would be good if his comments could include that he won both the Derby and the 2000 Guineas!

Done. :)

If you've been wondering why so many of these horses have no stakes record entered, it's no doubt a holdover from the old database format. A few years ago, a horse's stakes database entries would show up on its page, so putting them in the races won field would have resulted in a redundant display.

That's also why the field still says 'minor races won', and why there's a note directing people to use the stakes database. Both of those no longer apply.

That's alright with me, because the Stakes DB is far too complex to properly cover things. So many races CHANGED names, so people enter the horse both under the latest name, AND add 1 under the name when the horse ran it, etc. It's far too complex and not well controlled.

As a result, I don't bother with the Stakes DB. Obviously, few others do either, because most of the time "nothing" shows up for most horses.
