I hope I am posting this in the right place. I have tried to post a pic for my avatar and everytime I do, it tells me the pic is too big-how do I make a pic small enough for an avatar?? thanks

I have the same above question. My pics are all 56-80 kb. the required 8kb seems very minimal.
