You mean as part of your post?

The picture has to be hosted on the web somewhere that allows 'hotlinking' (meaning it can't be at Geocities and the like).

Right click on the picture so you get the drop down menu and then click on "Properties"

Highlight the address url and right click on it then hit "copy".

when you are in the reply box here, right click and click "paste".

The url should then show up here, highlight it and then click the "Img" button above.

That should work. I had a problem with it earlier so there might be a glich in the system.

Tried downloading photo from Webshots using your instructions but when I try to preview there is a red x in the corner and no photo. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong???

Thanks

Not sure it's you. I think Webshots might be one that doesn't allow hotlinking.

Check the way you've got the link written. It should look:

If it's like that and you are getting the red x, I'd say webshots doesn't allow hotlinking.

Sam, I believe you're right about Webshots. Then who do I use?

Not entirely sure. I know more and more picture sites are moving to block hotlinking (they don't want the drain on their system). You might see if your IP has some kind of webspace they give you. I know I can link to AOL webpages, but I really don't know to many others.

Photobucket.com is designed for hotlinking. It used to be free, but I don't know if it still is.
