Relaunch and Seattle Slew have combined in the 4xTime GIW and Multiple Champion Tiznow, the Personal Ensign Handicap (GI) Winner Passing Shot, the Champagne Stakes (GI) Winner Officer, the Teio Sho (JAP-GI) Winner Name Value, the 3xTime G2W Budroyale who also finished 2nd in the BC Classic (GI), and finally the Sorrento Stakes (G2) Winner Tizdubai.
Remarkablly, this constitutes 4 out of Relaunch's 21 GIWs in the G1Goldmine Program (which includes a pretty comprehensive database of GIWs from the last 10 years).
Thus, an incredible 19.04% of the Relaunch descended GIWs in the database have Seattle Slew on the other side (a figue FAR higher than the percentage of GIWs in the database as a whole who have Seattle Slew).
Pia Star and Intentionally trace tail-female to Ballantrae, Family 5-j. Relaunch carries two additional crosses to Ballantrae through Djebel and Equipoise. Linebreeding to Ballantrae appears too often in good winners and stakes winners (see Saratoga Dew) to be entirely coincidental, and introducing more Ballantrae is worth considering when matching a pedigree with In Reality present.
The cross of Equipoise (a full sister of Pia Star's 3rd dam Schwester) in In Reality's specific son Relaunch is a key to the kind of 5-J female family inbreeding you speak of (though you are quite correct that even giving In Reality Equipoise's full sister without the In Reality coming through Relaunch did work very well in Saratoga Dew).
Note of course that Pia Star and Relaunch are found in Tiznow and Company...
I never thought of it before, but Saratoga Dew and Relaunch are exibiting the same pattern (giving In Reality a return of 5-j through either Equipoise or his full sister Schweter).
I wonder if Saratoga Dew's been given any meaningful Equipose in Japan?
