Broodmare quality?

Postby JCIbarra » Sun Oct 07, 2007 12:20 pm

Hi everyone, just wondering what your opinions are of this mare. If she is of breeding quality, who would you send her to? Thanks!

The second dam produced GRI winner Persepolis, that's good black type close-up.

The first thing I'd want to know in assessing her broodmare quality, is why is she not pregnant? She didn't race, so presumably had all of the 2003 breeding season to get in foal. Her current owners were trying through June 13th and still were not successful.

So your first two questions ought to be how many covers did she have, and what went wrong?

Hi LB, she was in training in the spring, until she bowed a tendon. From what I was told, they covered her once in June and didn't try again. I'm assuming that it was because it was late in the year, as well as they knew they were going to be running her through the sale. I'm not sure if your statement "Her current owners were trying through June 13th and still were not successful" was a question or a fact. All I know is what I was informed of by her vet. Thanks!

She would fit into a regional or breed to race program.

Did you buy her? For some reason I thought it was Ian Kinne whose hand I saw up last. At any rate, I thought she was quite attractive in the ring...I wondered if someone might grab her for a sporthorse prospect, since there were quite a few sporthorse-types there, too.
