Stallion suggestions?

Postby timex » Fri Oct 26, 2007 7:29 pm

ok, just bought a mare named Short Fuse Tara, looking for a stallion here in NY to breed her to. Maiden mare, ended up winning around 140,000, wish i could get my hands on her complet race records, but the jockey club is less than cooperative for me lately, so i'm not too sure of the distances she ran at. looking to have a NY-bred to race in a few years. any suggestions?

According to my APR, Short Fuse Tara was a sprinter:

2003 Short Fuse Tara,B,f,Pentelicus 2 15 2 2 3 48,650 ( 85) 1.71
North America 2 YO Record * 3 2 0 1 24,400 ( 83)
North America Turf Record 2 0 0 0 660 ( 80)
North America Dirt Sprints 11 2 2 3 47,340 ( 85)
North America Dirt Routes 2 0 0 0 650 ( 72)
North America Muddy/Sloppy 1 0 0 0 1,140 ( 73)
DP = 7-7-17-0-3 DI = 1.96 CD = 0.44 AWD = 6.00

What a good, hard knocking family!! I like Say Florida Sandy very much for her, and he, too, was a solid, hard knocking horse. There is no doubt that this mating can only produce a sprinter, but this breeding is really worth a try. Oftentimes, it is best to not get too experimental, especially with a maiden mare.
