New York stallion for Hop to It

Postby henthorn » Sat Dec 01, 2007 12:01 pm

My Bien Bien mare Hop to It will deliver in NY this spring, her Bowman's Band foal. In order to have that baby be accredited NY-bred, Hop must breed back to a NY stud.

Does anyone know anything about Hook and Ladder? The hypo-mating has some fascinating linebreeding patterns. Hop needs a not-too-large stud with some speed. She's a turf-preferred mare with a closing style, winner on both dirt and turf at a mile plus.

I really like True Direction & Midas Eyes in general. Friendly Island is a bit interesting to me as well.

Henthorn..if you like the Dixieland Band cross with Hook and Ladder please consider Inklet or Max Patch. Both are just entering stud this year and are registered NY Stallions (just sent in the paperwork) And you can get a great deal on stud fees since both are available thru the Indiana Stallion Season auction on Starquine
Thanks and good luck

Gerry,

Inklet's dam is my mare's grandam. She's by Wheelaway out of Black Bacardi who's out of Conquistress. ( It's All Good is her name ).

Winds..its such a small world  have you decided who to breed her to? Guess Inklet would be alittle too much inbreeding

Gerry,

I wanted to go to Go For Gin, but they won't come down in his stud fee where I need it. But who we've decided on is exciting too. Won't sign breeding agreement until I do a physical inspection, it's Request For Parole.

It's a complete outcross to the fifth generation.

Regarding Hop To It, have you considered Gold Fever? He is reportedly 15.3 and the pedigree cross is interesting.
