Mating advice for Forty Niner mare...

Take her to MECKE in Florida.
Total bad ass....looks like prototypical LB or QB in football.
Tail female is broodmare of the year.
MECKE already has Tom Fool, Nijinsky II and Palestinian (aka Damascus, Sun Again stuff), he is setup for some Ribot and some MR Prospector speed.

Guy is cheap and has full sister.
So this pedigree produces full brother/sister 2 million dollar earners

Seems like a reasonable choice for your mare.

Hey Green Thumb(er)-

My 3 year old calls her Thumb, "thumber"-anyway, I'm IN Kentucky, does sending her to Mecke in FL seem like a good idea w/all the options available here? I mean BETTER than what's available here where I am?

Right now, I'm listening to Pete and thinking I should try a proven older stallion....but still liking the unproven (sigh) stallion. I am currently considering Suave, Perfect Soul, Eddington, and a few others.

Others, besides you, have liked Mecke. I'll have to see how he sells. But, my immediate impression is to stay where I am, since I intend to sell the offspring here.

I don't follow what you're saying. Mecke-Angela Niner produces a full sibling to 2 million dollar earners? Can you explain?

Look at Valentine Dancer's pedigree and consider the possibility of sending Angela Niner to In Excess in CA. Looking at Indian Charlie who is already in Ky might seem a good idea except when you look at how his dam side is so similar to how AN is bred it reaffirms what In Excess might do for you. FWIW, I believer he is alluding to MECHE's full sibling, Beautiful Pleasure. Who won over 2million at the track.

That is how I intrepreted it?

Beautiful Pleasure is Mecke's sister. A Mecke - Angela Niner mating would create a full sibling to no existing horse.

I meant the Maudlin X Beautiful cross produced siblings Mecke and Beautiful Pleasure. I was saying when a pedigree does that it is worth looking at.

So looking at Mecke, I thought that mare may cross well

I love to necro old threads. Composure's last two foals were by Distorted Humor. I looked it up because I'm considering sending my mare to Touch Gold next year.

Who did you breed the mare to?
