OPINIONS REALLY WANTED---
My husband has found a filly (or a few) he has suggested purchasing to breed this year - he better hurry up...we will have to look at them first and I do not want to waste time running all over looking, so we can eliminate some based on pedigree we shouldn't have to run as much
Do any of the following have any possible commerical appeal? I have my own opinions but would like to hear from the masses on this one before I open my mouth.
1) Luv of the Century, 05, Century City
2) Young Devon, 02, Chester House
3) Stormy Lassy, 03, Smoke Glacken (interesting as dam is 1/2 to 2nd dam of Tomcito)
4) Helmsman Ridge, 01, Helmsman
***Here one I found & like;
5) Rosecreek Gal, 05, Yes Its True out of the Iron Constitution mare, Iron Bid Lady (89)
OPINIONS-POTENTIAL Commerical breeding prospects?

Just my opinions here. I guess how commercial they can be depends on what you can get the mares for....
1)Luv of the Century comes from a blue hen family, with Cosmah the 4th dam and La Dame du Lac the 3rd. The problem is there hasn't been much success under the first 2 dams, and both mares were bred to plenty of decent stallions. She could be somewhat commercial, and I sort of like Century City. He's an unknown commodity as far as a broodmare sire, though I definitely think he's well bred and was a good runner. Is she a broodmare prospect or a racing/broodmare prospect?
2) Young Devon has sort of an interesting pedigree, being out of a good racemare from a decent French family, but I doubt she's going to be commercial in this country.
3) Stormy Lassy has a pedigree with some horses making some noise currently, but they're going to catalog pretty far back when you try and sell any of her yearlings. I'd be wary of the 0 for 15 record with just one in the money finish, too.
4) Helmsman Ridge I'd probably pass. She was very cheap, as has been everything under the first dam.
5) Rosecreek Gal I kind of like, too. We have a filly who's second dam is also Bid Gal that won at Churchill as a 3 year old last summer and we hope can get some black type this year. There are some decent sires under the first couple dams, including Valid Expectations, and I like Purge a whole lot, so maybe the pedigree can get a little better. also, even though the first dam hasn't produced much, they did think enough of her to breed her to Yes It's True, so that's saying something.
