What do you think?

Postby ginger1307 » Sun Mar 30, 2008 8:18 am

Hi everyone,
May I get suggestions as to what sire line I should cross with my Twilight Agenda mare? There are two nice horses close up in her pedigree (Imperialism and Colonel John) so Langfuhr and Tiznow are pretty obvious...But what other suggestions do you all have? Also I have an Apalachee mare that is a half sister to the dam of Honey Ryder..How about her too? :D thanks g

What's the name of the Twilight Agenda mare?

With Two Seasons, I think you could go to a new horse like Master Command who is closely related to Lasting Approval, who's obviously worked in the immediate family.

But for me, I'd send her to either Bandini or During.

Bandini has been really well supported by mare owners and although he may not be by the best stallion or have had the most impressive race record, I think there's a good chance a nice foal of his will sell pretty well.

The mating gives you a double of Moccasin which is a plus in my book. I don't know how often it's been attempted, but she was as high class of a runner and broodmare as there ever was.

At a much cheaper fee you have During. The cross is bananas with doubles of Nasrullah, Princequillo, and Knights Daughter. I started a thread about him in the stallion forum and it seems a lot of people think he'll get runners.

It's a bubble year for him but my gut tells me he'll be a nice stallion. I'm using him this year.

Wow, that is one mighty tough filly to give an educated guess about what she goes best with given that her first dam is a 1974 model and the second dam is sired by a sire foaled in 1945. Even at the cost of a full broodmare analysis from me for $450 could I give you any more than an educated guess. Add Twilight Agenda and how tricky he is on top and you certainly have your work cut out for you.

Anybody that gives you an opinion about this mating without spending a lot of time on it, is whistling Dixie.

This is not a mare that a lay person who posts on this list should make sweeping statements about. You, on the other hand, since she's yours and you know and care about the mare more than anybody else has a decent shot, through hard research, to become a good producer. Good luck :)

Imperialism is out of a Pass The Tab half sister to Marty's Party's dam... perhaps Flashy Bull or Giacomo.. or Woke Up Dreamin.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
