Any Broodmare Potential

Postby mary » Wed Jul 16, 2008 10:19 am

I am just asking for my friend's filly. Her name is Territory Sand. Her dam line screams long on the turf to me. He wants to sell her, if no takers he will keep her. Opinions?

Hi

She has a very interesting pedigree. Her conduit profile is nicely balanced, and I agree with you regarding her grass influenced damline, with some nice turf runners close up. She traces to the conduit mare, Roselawn (1909) (recently classified as B/S). Roselawn (1t) goes back to a full sister of the very influential Glencoe (sire of Pocahontas and the broodmare sire of Stockwell, King Tom and Rataplan). Roselawn is closely related to the conduit mare Membrilla (1902) by Laveno, who is the conduit of the Two Thousand Guineas winner Mystiko, and the 'Arc winners Bon Mot and Dr Devious. I think this filly may have some future breeding value on a regional level, especially as a breed-to-race type.

Has Mike had any luck trying to unload this filly? I know he looks at Maggi getting lucky with a couple of cheap horses and then he thinks he can do it too....but those three he bought at the sale had pretty bad pages. I don't know who advised him to buy those....

Whoa! Please re-read my post. He wants to sell her, if no takers he will keep her? What's the rest of the extraneous stuff about?
