advice for Kuda Huraa

Postby Maureen » Mon Sep 08, 2008 12:51 pm

We have just acquired this mare from the track with a career ending injury and will be looking for a suitable stallion in the new year. Prefer Ontario based stallions, $5k or less.

Kuda Huraa (Grindstone-Always Loving by Hennessy )

Thanks for any suggestions!

Doneraile Court has a couple of stakes winners out of Grindstone mares. So maybe a Seattle Slew line stallion. Tomahawk exceeds your stud fee limit but his foals seem to sell well. Also, for the Rasmussen factor fans, with Tomahawk you would have line breeding to Crimson Saint through Pancho Villa and his full sister Terlingua and to Somethingroyal through Secretariat and Sir Gaylord.

I think your mare needs an apport of consistency, so I'd go for a stallion with a long and regular racing career.
In Ontario you may consider Compadre, or Gone Fishin.
