Since she came across my desk today.

It seems that recently I have gotten a lot of offers for mares. Of course it is expected with the economy. I am in the market for the right mare and who isn't??? Obviously we are not he kind of people who just get rid of unwanted horses or broodmares no longer in production, so to take on another mare is a big commitment, and I want to make the right decision.

So the mare I would really like an opinion on is Lakeland12 she is by Alleged. so some feed back would be great and help me immensely in my decision. There are some nice horses who raced in Japan, but do people here see that and does that add to some commercial value. We breed to race but I would like to have a couple of commercial prospects to add to my band of "very successful runners but not much page broodmares"
thank you in advance.

Also of course she is meant to got to my stallion Gone Fishin!
I know there is ND in there but you can hardly avoid it, and is it such a bad thing???

I foaled this mare's 2003 filly when I worked at Hill n' Dale. She's been bred to quite a few good stallions and has produced nothing of note. She last sold at auction at the CTHS Ontario Winter mixed sale in 2006. She was purchased for $3400 in foal to Lost Soldier.

She's a small mare. Her foal Dura Matter went through the same mixed sale and she was tiny also.

My 2 cents, hold out for a better mare.

Yes.
I have decided to pass on her. Her breeding is great, but she has had a lot of opportunity to produce something and has not. I want something for the sales.
So we will keep looking.
thanks
